MicrodegreeTM in AI

MicrodegreeTM in AI is an accelerated blended learning program created by leading US university faculty members and AI industry experts with the aim to upskill participants with AI knowledge so they can confidently grasp further AI opportunities in the field.

The Machine Learning course in the MicrodegreeTM in AI program includes in-depth exploration and discussion on various ML workflows, techniques, and methods.

Course Duration: 3 Months

The Deep Learning course in the MicrodegreeTM in AI program includes comprehensive exploration and discussion on various DL methods, types, implementations, workflows, and techniques, and also the know-how on building and training models.

MicrodegreeTM Specialization

The MicrodegreeTM Specialization is an additional program consisting of courses on Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing. Participants have an option to take either the course on CV or NLP or both. The courses in this program can be accessed after the completion of the MicrodegreeTM in AI program.

Prerequisites

  • Must be final year Bachelor students or graduates

  • Basic knowledge of linear algebra and calculus

  • Knowledge of probability and statistics

  • Programming experience in Python

  • Experience implementing Computer Science algorithms and object-oriented programming

  • The ability to run programs and interpret output from a command line terminal or shell

  • Develop a solid understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms and gain a good grasp of underlying mathematics and coding concepts

  • Select and implement appropriate algorithms, libraries, and frameworks for different types of problems

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The MicrodegreeTM in AI courses can be pursued by students and engineers who already possess basic Computer Science and Mathematics foundations. These prerequisites include basic knowledge of linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics. The program also requires programming experience in Python and know-how on the implementation of Computer Science algorithms and object-oriented programming. Participants should have the ability to run programs and interpret output from a command line terminal or shell. H&M Group employees can apply and will be required to take the entrance exam. Ideally, students fitting the enrollment criteria generally include 4th year graduating students who check off the specifications. Prior to enrollment, students will be required to undergo an eligibility test to check if they have enough foundational skills to take the course. Additionally, you can also choose to pursue either or both of the courses in the MicrodegreeTM Specialization program after the completion of the MicrodgereeTM in AI program.

After the completion of the courses in the program, you will develop a solid understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms, with an advanced understanding of underlying concepts of math and coding. You will be able to then select and apply appropriate algorithms, libraries, and frameworks techniques for different AI problems and assess the performance, evaluate and compare different AI models to design and deploy end-to-end pipelines. You will also be able to run experiments to change code details to improve the algorithm.

The total duration of the program varies from 6 months to 1 year. The MicrodegreeTM in AI program is the primary compulsory program, lasting 6 months, with 2 courses that last 3 months each. Students can then choose to further pursue the MicrodegreeTM Specialization program after the completion of the primary program. The MicrodegreeTM Specialization program consists of 2 courses as well, lasting 3 months each.
